a late early evening update... typing this up at Kass' home. behind me, three of the 5 Bums are gazing at yearbook pictures... downstairs, i hear utensils clinking as Kass' dad and mom put away the dinner stuff. i'm stuffed. we're stuffed. Kass' mom's reputation as a marvelous cook/chef is well deserved indeed. this picture was taken by Kass' dad... i asked him to go up the stairs a little bit in order to take it, as we were playing mahjjong and i thought a view from above would be cool. and so it is. (man, Kass! your keyboard is really REALLY tought to type on. i have to BANG the keys beaucoup hard. hehe. see? i misspelled 'tough' even.)

anyway, Quad arrived at my office around 12:30 and his parents dropped us off at the downtown Berkeley BART station, from whence we caught the Fremont train, then transferred to the Dublin-Pleasanton train, at Bayfair. we spent the time waiting for BART, then on the train just talking, catching up on one thing or another that isn't quite possible to talk about with much depth on IM. also, he flunked my own AP Stat 'quiz' for him -- he missed the NY Times crossword answer for 'statistician's margin of error.' pbbbtt. from someone who took A.P. Stat at ATDP this summer? hehe. j/k Quad! ;-) (anyway, the answer began with FU_ _ _ _ _CT_ _ so he might have been thrown off by that 'FU' haha. anyone have a guess? it's a 2-word answer.)
