today's recommended weblog reading...
monique's... have you ever been to one of these? and she says you should go pure. ;-) i.e., not under the 'influence.'
shine-ning's... just because his animated GIF is funny and sad.
aaron's... on friends and friendship.
and mine... (yesterday's log) because you may not have read it yet... ;-)
Carlos Baradello, Fed's dad, gave an intense talk at TIC this afternoon. Well, I for one found it intense. We'll see how the students thought about it, after I read the journals. Carlos talked about the global digital divide: the 1 billion of us in the developed world (North America, Europe, Japan) and the 5 billion who live elsewhere, who don't have access to the Internet and the new economy. As I'm in class right now, I can't really write up my own thoughts and reactions to the talk, but suffice it to say, my mind was blown by what Carlos had to say, and the projects he and Motorola/Discovery Channel are doing.

right after frisbee-time today:

(large version of the pic... 240) suggestions for a caption welcomed. (particularly if it explains Trev adequately ;-)
Tom's caption:
The TAs, posing for a 2030 Kodak moment. To commemorate the moment, we took a photo. To immortalize the moment, Trev wrote "2030 Rulz!" in urine on the wall.
Quad's caption:
TAs all sportin' the 'Trev' pose... apparently, only Trev knows how to do it right.
