Kass' life Growing Pains II

Tom's musings The Greek Stranger

and that, young friends and students, is what weblogging is all about: a piece of your mind on the net. shrapnel. the shards of MY mind blown by what you have to say and share.

and isn't that what life is all about too? being engaged, provoked, stirred, moved, lifted to a higher plane of consciousness? otherwise we remain as mute as rocks and pine cones in summer. and while there is virtue in being merely organic or just stolidly mineral, there is further virtue in being a soul grounded in the dynamics of mind, heart, and humanity.

so write, you! and put your soul on display here, where others may choose to see, or not to see. be human, in this way, as you are in other ways.

p.s.:

Tom, although yours is not technically a weblog, i found your essay because i linked to it from your weblog, which is where i go to first these days, before your old musings page.

you aren't quite sold on this yet, i can see that. but think about this scenario: there you are, at an airport in either Pasadena or Oakland, waiting for a flight back to Pleasant Hill or forth to Caltech, and an intense burst of neuronal activity almost overwhelms you, as you thoughtfully watch humanity drift by, feeling your own. and you feel this intense urge to speak and share your mind with us...

...and you won't have access to your ISP (need laptop, wireless modem, html editor, ftp client, none of which you have right then and there). but hey, there's an Internet kiosk nearby with a simple browser! aha. there's your weblog, then. easier to access, far more convenient as a tabula rasa on which your idea-burst can be located in c-space.

so get with the program, Einstein... flip your log. ;-)

update, 3:44 p.m.

Einstein flipped not just his log but his entire website! *chuckle* ;-)
