Jiggaaaa
"Alright, so this will be MY lloydlog image... I'll start all my lloyd-flips with that so you know who's writing." That was what i was gonna write but then thought about it and looked at the image once again, and realized it would indicate me being an Opium dealer like Lloyd's great grand papi, which i WAS referring to Senor Nebres, when I typed the notice in yesterday's weblog. I didnt just randomly pick that- he had told me about his drug dealin grand papi but i guess he forgot (he said he forgot because he wasnt feelin absent minded, and he then quickly remarked that his not thinking straight had nothing to do with Opium hehe). For the record, Laura, you can expect ill make some spelling mistakes every once and a while since i dont really care about spelling especially on weblogs hehe... But anyway, what Laura did write on her weblog that made me think for a min or two was this "If Lloyd wants to push drugs that's fine as long as his grammar doesn't suffer." What would you honestly think if you had a teacher that did dealing on the side? I mean i certianly aint got anything against drugs, but having a public rolemodel freely practicing illegal drug trafficing? I know you didnt mean your joke that way, but what would you think? Well im not quite sure why i'm writin here, since I do have my own weblog, and lloyd IS here to write in his own weblog, but it was his idea anyway so whatev...
...So what's with this "keeping the streek" crap anyway? I really didnt understand the point of it (maintaing a streak of weblog entries) when I first heard about it, and really still dont. When I asked Anna months ago she said it was a "Cal Ripken sort of thing." So i guess Lloyd is the Cal Ripken of the ATDP community, but surely not of the entire weblog community? Id go check the top 100 list or whatver it is to see if there is someone with a longer streak, but im too lazy, and it'd take away from Lloyd's fame if I found anything ;-0
*chuckle* nice lloydlog, Trev.
but "Jiggaaaa" ?? that's obscure to me. can anyone explain this, please? evokes rap-like things, to me, plus ebonics... heh.
dammit, i think i'm too sick to go to Kahoolawe tomorrow. body aches and neuralgia... flu symptoms. WHY NOW?!?!? grr. took a nap this afternoon, in hopes of feeling better. woke up feeling far worse. i think it's the universe telling me that now is not the time i'm supposed to go to Kahoolawe and participate in the Makahiki. there's always next year, though (i hope) and will make sure to ask Barnacle Bill to consider me early for an invite. :-(
this "keeping the streek" crap? well, like i said, "it's no biggie, but it's phun." and as for the longest weblogging streak, i'm sure it's Dave Winer himself, the software developer and entrepreneur of Manila, who was in the forefront of weblogging long before it started gaining popularity and adherence. (but it's still relatively elite these days, compared with other uses/mediums of the web.) some people (Kass, Quad, Spark, Anna, etc.) like to see continuity on their calendar links, and for various reasons i'm sure -- from the merely aesthetic, to the psychologically obsessive. hehehe. i kind of fall in the in-between mode: i think it's cool to go as far back in time in the weblog calendars and know that i can kinda tell what i did for any given day... and it's also cool to see every day on the calendar as an actual link, preserving the integrity of the navigational metaphor to the fullest.
- if you missed the link to Laura's very interesting weblog on teachers and drugs up there where Trev linked to her weblog page (but here i'm linking it to the actual day), well there it is again. and thanks for the get-well pix, Laura! 'm feeling better already.
- waittaminit... in one weblogging day i get likened to Sherlock Holmes AND Cal Ripken!?!? What next? Shirley Temple? lol ;-) on further inspection, the similarity is downright eerie! of Sherlock to Cal, silly. heh.
- Cole is going minimalist. i like it! he said he'd be posting up his poetry on his weblog, which is a cool, cool idea. the spare, almost harsh simplicity of a blank page yields itself to absolute focus on the serried lines of verse. i look forward to Cole's weblogged poems, and quotes from books he has read. (but don't stop with the image production, Cole. just toss 'em in from time to time.)
- if you want to know a little bit about my family, read this. it's my brother Peter's weblog essay on our grandfather, Lumen Roble. an earthly saint, if there ever was one. flawed and human, yet a saint nevertheless...
- this over-the-counter flu med is making me queasy and lightheaded... and i'm not sure mixing it with my bro's herbal echinacea teas and vitamin-C megadoses is a good thing. i'm not thinking clearly. i'm crestfallen. and hallucinating lightly. crap. oh well, somebody please weblog something cool and get me out of my solipsistic misery.
