and this is...?

the future is now, part deux.

we start off today by reading a Jakob Nielsen article: The Network is the User Experience.. the message Nielsen is basically conveying...

THE WEB IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE WEB!

strong words. but my gut feeling is he's right, as usual. this guy's track record during the past decade in predicting web and internet usage has been uncanny. sure, he has had some bombs, like his insistence that micro-payments as a means of paying for stuff on the web has arrived. it hasn't, and won't, until later in this new decade. but anyway, Nielsen is a visionary force to be listened to, as his finger on the pulse of the web is astonishingly sensitive.

what we're doing today:
10-11:30 this morning: read and update your weblogs, write about your individual web design project
11:30 CSS talk
1:00 CSS demos
2:30 group meetings
3:30-4:30 free period

12:34 a.m. last update of the day... if you haven't read these weblogs yet, do so:

Kass' Growing Pains
Jorge's comic page

Note to TAs: take a clue from Monique on how to engage your group members.
