What does it mean to be human in the 21st century...?
Good morning, everyone...! (Since today's spiel was done on the fly, and Aaron sorta followed along and typed keywords onscreen behind me as I talked, the text version of it won't be up until a bit later. I'll write it down this weekend and post it as a weblog entry. Perhaps here, perhaps another day.) I look forward to reading your journals!
JOURNAL QUESTION FOR TODAY:
Parte Uno:
how much time do you spend online and in the virtual world? (not counting hours spent as a student) don't just say how much time (or percentage of such) you spend online. characterize it a bit, i.e., tell me what it is you do online, whether it be chatting, doing research, putting on a different persona in an online RPG, playing network (or non-net) games, etc.
Parte Dos:
give me some feedback as to what you thought of this morning's impassioned little speech of mine. ;-)
time spent online will only increase in the new millenium
manila keeps us connected
appearance is no substitute for substance
content over style
don't bash manila superficially...we're at Berkeley, not high school. support yourself intelligently
